Site Overview

Plavnik Island Wall is a wall dive site in Kvarner Gulf, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. Plavnik is a dramatic deep wall off an uninhabited island, falling away into blue water rich with gorgonians and big fish. Schools of dentex-shaped fish and the occasional blue shark in summer make it one of the few shark spots in Croatia. The depth and exposure mean it is a dive for experienced divers with good buoyancy and gas planning. Visibility is often spectacular, among the best in the Kvarner. The remote setting keeps it pristine and uncrowded. It is a bucket-list wall for Adriatic divers chasing pelagics. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 18 to 40 metres, the current is moderate and the water temperature ranges between 14 and 25 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
