Diving Solta Island - Maslinica Wall

Site Overview

Solta Island - Maslinica Wall is a wall dive site in Central Dalmatia - Sibenik, Split & Islands, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Maslinica Wall off Šolta is a steep slope dressed in gorgonians and large groupers. The occasional tuna passes the point, adding excitement to the dive. Moderate current and the depth make it a dive for confident Advanced divers. Visibility is regularly excellent, showing the wall and fish clearly. The island is close to Split, making it a convenient day trip. It is a natural complement to the Brač and Hvar walls. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 18 to 38 metres, the current is moderate and the water temperature ranges between 15 and 26 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth. The marine life is classic Adriatic, centred on red gorgonian, dusky grouper, bluefin tuna, with the full community described below for those planning a dive.
