Site Overview

Tihany Wreck (Krk) is a wreck dive site in Kvarner Gulf, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Tihany is a small steamer sitting at 15-25 m off Krk, a gentle and accessible wreck dive for newer divers. The hull and surrounding sand are a macro paradise, with nudibranchs, seahorses and pipefish in the rubble. Its shallow depth makes it ideal for training, photography and relaxed fun dives. The structure attracts small fish and the occasional octopus, rewarding a slow, observant approach. Visibility is usually good, and the short boat ride from Krk keeps it convenient. It is a perfect counterpart to the deeper Kvarner walls for a varied day. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 12 to 30 metres, the current is low and the water temperature ranges between 14 and 25 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
