Diving Vis - Bisevo Wall
Site Overview
Vis - Bisevo Wall is a wall dive site in Central Dalmatia - Sibenik, Split & Islands, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Biševo Wall drops steeply into blue water beside the famous Blue Cave island. Gorgonians and sea fans dress the wall, and amberjack and barracuda patrol the blue. Moderate current makes it a dive for confident Advanced divers. Visibility is regularly excellent, showing the vertical relief clearly. The remote island setting keeps it pristine and uncrowded. It is the scuba complement to the Biševo Blue Cave experience. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 18 to 38 metres, the current is moderate and the water temperature ranges between 15 and 26 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth. The marine life is classic Adriatic, centred on red gorgonian, greater amberjack, european barracuda, with the full community described below for those planning a dive. Because of its advanced rating and the need for Advanced Open Water certification, Vis - Bisevo Wall is best approached with the right thermal protection and, where relevant, wreck or deep training. It is a representative example of why Croatian diving, with its wrecks, walls, caves and gorgonian forests, attracts divers who want history and Mediterranean life in equal measure.
Dive Briefing
"Entry is made by boat, with a transfer of about 25 minutes near Komiza, and divers should check in with a local centre before entering the water. Plan your profile around a maximum depth of 50 m and an average of 30 m, keeping a close eye on gas and, in deeper sections, on the cold thermocline. Buoyancy control matters: silty or vegetated bottoms and submerged structures are easily disturbed, and steep wall with rapid depth gain is a real consideration here. Take a moment to review the site-specific hazards with your guide, because conditions at Vis - Bisevo Wall can shift quickly with wind and tide and change the feel of the dive. A safe ascent with a surface marker buoy and a clear exit plan completes the dive, with emergency cover routed through Split University Hospital Hyperbaric Chamber."

Traveler Notes
Who is this for?
Vis - Bisevo Wall suits advanced divers holding at least an Advanced Open Water certification, and it is a strong choice for those who enjoy the clear, fish-rich water of the Croatian Adriatic. Photographers, training groups and divers chasing wrecks, walls, caves or macro life will all find something here, provided they respect the temperature, the marine park rules and the limits of each site. It is less suitable for absolute novices unless booked through a centre running a supervised course, and the deepest or most enclosed sections should only be attempted with the correct specialist training and a guide. Planning a dive here with a licensed Croatian operator not only keeps you safe but also helps protect the fragile gorgonian forests, seagrass and wrecks that make the site special.
