Diving Vis - Fortunal Wreck

Site Overview

Vis - Fortunal Wreck is a wreck dive site in Central Dalmatia - Sibenik, Split & Islands, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Fortunal is a 1922 steamer sunk at 30-45 m off Vis, a deep and atmospheric wreck. Groupers and conger eels use the structure, making it a rewarding Advanced dive. Its depth places it above the very deepest wrecks but still requires good gas management. Visibility is usually excellent, showing the steamer clearly. The short boat ride from Komiža keeps it a convenient deep dive. It is a flagship wreck of the Vis diving scene. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 15 to 35 metres, the current is low and the water temperature ranges between 15 and 26 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
