Site Overview

Vis - Sveti Nikola Wreck is a wreck dive site in Central Dalmatia - Sibenik, Split & Islands, Croatia, set in the clear, fish-rich waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Sveti Nikola is a 19th-century sailing ship scattered at 15-25 m off Vis. Amphorae and the wooden remains dot the sandy slope, a small archaeological wreck. Its shallow depth makes it accessible to Open Water divers. Macro life and reef fish inhabit the scattered timbers. Visibility is usually good, and the short boat ride keeps it convenient. It is a gentle, history-rich dive for newer visitors to Vis. Conditions are typical of the Croatian coast: visibility generally runs from 15 to 35 metres, the current is low and the water temperature ranges between 15 and 26 degrees Celsius depending on season and depth.
