Scuba Diving Regions in Dominica
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
Diving in Dominica is excellent year-round, but the prime conditions are typically found from December to May during the dry season. During these months, horizontal visibility is at its absolute peak, and the seas are generally calm on the leeward west coast. The months of March and April are particularly special as they mark a peak in whale sightings and often bring the calmest surface conditions. The summer and autumn months (June to November) bring warmer water temperatures, reaching up to 29°C, though this is also the Atlantic hurricane season. For many, the shoulder months of November and May offer a perfect balance of great diving and fewer crowds. Water temperatures range from a comfortable 26°C in February to 29°C in September.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For Dominica, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
