Scuba Diving Regions in Ecuador
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
Diving in Ecuador and the Galápagos is excellent year-round, but there are two distinct seasons. The 'Warm Season' from December to May offers calmer seas, warmer water (22°C-28°C), and the best manta ray sightings. The 'Cool Season' from June to November brings the nutrient-rich Humboldt Current, attracting more whale sharks and hammerheads, though the water is cooler (16°C-22°C) and seas can be rougher.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For Ecuador, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
