This northern Ionian cluster joins the dramatic white cliffs of Lefkada with the tiny, turquoise gems of Paxos and Antipaxos. Lefkada’s Cape Dukato is a vertical white-cliff drop-off carrying gorgonians, amberjack and passing pelagics, and its Papanikolis Cave is a vast sea cavern once used as a submarine shelter, with a huge air-filled dome, stalactites and shifting light. Paxos and Antipaxos are renowned for the clearest water in the Ionian: the Antipaxos Wall is a pristine rocky reef of groupers, barracuda and lobsters that is a wide-angle photographer’s dream, and the Blue Caves of Errikousa hide soft corals, nudibranchs and cuttlefish. Connected by bridge to the mainland, Lefkada is easy to reach, while Paxos is a short ferry away. The combination of dramatic geology, crystalline visibility and a slow, upmarket island pace makes this one of the most beautiful corners of the Greek diving map.

Getting There

Fly into Preveza/Aktion (PVK), a short drive from Lefkada, or drive via the floating bridge from the mainland. Paxos is reached by ferry from Igoumenitsa or Lefkada (seasonal) and Antipaxos by water taxi from Gaios. A car covers Lefkada; boats cover the small islands.
