Site Overview

Cape Dukato is the dramatic southern tip of Lefkada, where brilliant white cliffs plunge into the open Ionian as a steep wall that drops beyond 50 m. The wall is clad in gorgonians and sea fans and patrolled by amberjack, barracuda and the occasional larger pelagic, while groupers hold in the caverns cut into the cliff. Its exposed position means it can have swell and a steady current, so it is best for confident advanced divers, but the reward is pristine, lightly dived topography and superb visibility that often exceeds 35 m. It is a true big-water Ionian dive, with the white cliff towering above and the blue stretching to the horizon. For photographers the gorgonian gardens in the 20–30 m band are superb, and for deep-certified divers the wall offers a real sense of adventure. Cape Dukato Wall (Lefkada) sits within Ionian Islands – Lefkada, Paxos, Antipaxos and is best described as a wall and reef dive. The water here is typically clear, and the profile — from around 8 m down to 50 m — gives advanced divers a rewarding range of routes. Among the life you can expect are Amberjack, Barracuda, Red Gorgonian, Dusky Grouper, Bogue. The site rewards a slow, observant approach, and good buoyancy keeps both diver and reef safe. With sensible planning around weather and boats, it ranks among the more memorable stops on a Greek diving trip.
