Site Overview

The Pinnacle in Reyðarfjörður is a submerged rocky seamount rising from the fjord floor, draped in dense kelp and swarming with cod and pollock. It is one of East Iceland’s most dynamic reef dives, with moderate current sweeping the summit and the occasional minke whale passing at the surface. Water is 3 to 10°C and a drysuit is mandatory, with boat cover and a skilled skipper essential for safety in the drift. For advanced divers who enjoy flying along a living seamount, the Pinnacle showcases Iceland’s productive Atlantic reefs away from the busy south and west.
