    Site Overview

The Secca della Ficarella is a celebrated pinnacle off Monte Argentario, rising from depth to a shallow summit draped in red gorgonians. It is one of the most fish-rich sites in Tuscany, with barracuda, amberjack and the occasional eagle ray cruising the blue, while groupers and morays hide in the rock. The clear Tyrrhenian water and the abundance of life make it a highlight of the Argentario coast and a favourite for photographers. A moderate current often brings the pelagics in, rewarding divers who plan around slack water. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for Italy’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among Mediterranean divers. Dive Briefing

"Brief on the pinnacle profile and current, then descend the shot line to the top. Control buoyancy to protect the gorgonians and watch for barracuda and the occasional eagle ray. Use a torch in the crevices, ascend with a safety stop, and be mindful of boat traffic near the coast. Follow your guide closely, monitor your thermal comfort and complete a safety stop before exiting at the designated point.
