Secca delle Corvine
Site Overview
The Secca delle Corvine is the signature wall of the Salento, near Santa Maria di Leuca, where huge groupers and dentex gather among red gorgonians in clear Adriatic water. The sheer drop and the abundance of life make it one of the richest dives in Puglia, and the moderate current often brings the pelagics in. It is a favourite for photographers and a satisfying advanced dive that combines big fish with dramatic scenery at the heel of Italy. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for Italy’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among Mediterranean divers. Dive Briefing
"Brief on the wall profile and current, then descend the shot line and drift along the face. Control buoyancy to protect the gorgonians and watch for groupers and dentex. Use a torch in the cracks, ascend with a safety stop, and be mindful of boat traffic near the cape. Follow your guide closely, monitor your thermal comfort and complete a safety stop before exiting at the designated point.
