"Enter from the sheltered shore access and descend into the calm bay waters where the reef slope begins at just three metres depth. Navigate across the shallow coral bommies observing the diverse small species that inhabit the protected environment. Search the coral surfaces and sandy margins for frogfish camouflaged among the rocky substrate and ghost pipefish hovering near gorgonian branches. The sandy patches between coral formations host octopus hunting for crustaceans and the rarely observed sea moth resting on the bottom with its distinctive dragon like appearance. Continue deeper to twelve to sixteen metres where the reef gradient increases and larger coral formations provide habitat for moray eels and schooling reef fish. Explore the Marine Science Station boundary area where the protection has allowed marine life to thrive with reduced disturbance. Return to the shallows for your safety stop in the calm bay environment where the gentle conditions provide a relaxing conclusion to the dive. Throughout the dive maintain awareness of your buddy position buoyancy control and depth gauge readings while observing the diverse marine communities and geological formations that make this site a rewarding destination for divers of all experience levels visiting the region during the optimal diving season.
