The Kuwait City Salmiya and Coastal Artificial Reefs zone represents the most accessible and logistically convenient diving area in the country featuring an extensive network of purposely sunk structures deployed along the city front as part of the Kuwait Artificial Reef Project. The project encompasses decommissioned military vehicles old barges concrete pipes and metal frames strategically placed at sites including Ras Al-Ardh and Al-Khairan at depths of six to twenty metres. These artificial structures have been colonised by groupers sea bream lionfish scorpionfish and prolific macro life creating thriving underwater ecosystems accessible directly from the city. The Kuwait Towers Reef features concrete blocks and a small scuttled tugboat ideal for training and night dives while the Scientific Center Aquarium Reef provides educational diving opportunities monitored by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research. The Shuwaikh Port Wrecks offer penetration training on scattered dhows and steel hulks while Dhow Harbour Wreck and Marina Crescent Artificial Lagoons provide calm shallow training environments. Getting There

The coastal artificial reef sites are accessible directly from Kuwait City and the Salmiya area with most dive sites reachable by short boat rides of fifteen to thirty minutes from marina departure points. Some sites including the Marina Crescent training area are accessible from shore. Kuwait International Airport provides the main air gateway with connections throughout the Middle East and internationally. The urban location means hotels restaurants and dive operators are all within close proximity making logistics exceptionally convenient. Multiple dive centres in the city area provide equipment rental certification courses and guided diving to the artificial reef sites.
