Addu Atoll (Seenu, Southernmost) – Maldives Dive Region
About Addu Atoll (Seenu, Southernmost)
Addu Atoll is the Maldives' southernmost atoll and home to the extraordinary British Loyalty Wreck, a 140-metre British oil tanker torpedoed in WWII and now considered one of the Maldives' best wreck dives. The atoll offers dramatic channel diving at Maa Kandu with strong currents attracting grey reef sharks, silvertips, and occasional oceanic whitetips, while Hulhudhoo Kandu features spectacular gorgonian walls with eagle rays and schooling fusiliers. Kuda Kandu delivers drift diving with whitetip sharks and turtles, and Addu Manta Point provides seasonal manta ray cleaning station encounters near Gan. Villingili Wall offers a beautiful sloping reef with abundant macro life ideal for wide-angle photography. The British Loyalty Wreck lies at 25 to 33 metres, fully penetrable with enormous resident groupers, lionfish, and batfish, making Addu Atoll a unique destination combining world-class wreck diving with outstanding reef and channel experiences.
