    Site Overview

The Blue Hole at Dwejra is one of the Mediterranean’s most famous dive sites: a chimney-like sinkhole starting at 5 m that opens onto a massive archway into the open sea at 25 m. The walls are covered in sponges, gorgonians and huge groupers, with barracuda patrolling the blue. Though the Azure Window collapsed in 2017, the submerged arch remains spectacular, making the Blue Hole a bucket-list Gozo dive. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for Malta’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among Mediterranean divers.
