Inland Sea (Dwejra)
Site Overview
The Inland Sea is a shallow lagoon at Dwejra connected to the sea by an 80 m tunnel through the cliffs. Divers swim through the tunnel at 6-12 m and emerge on the outer reef with walls, sea fans and large fish. Calm and sheltered, it is excellent for training and less experienced divers, and its unique geology makes it a Gozo highlight. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and a respect for Malta’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among Mediterranean divers.
