Scuba Diving Regions in Oman
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
Diving in Oman is possible year-round, but the best conditions depend on the region. For Muscat and the Daymaniyat Islands, the peak season is from April to June and September to November, when the water is warm and visibility is excellent. Whale shark season in this area peaks between August and October. For the Musandam Peninsula, April to June and October to November are ideal. The Dhofar region (Mirbat) is best dived from October to May, as the summer monsoon (Khareef) from June to September brings cold upwellings and rougher seas, creating the unique seasonal kelp forests that are dived in the autumn.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For Oman, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
