Tenerife is the largest Canary Island and a year-round diving destination, warmed by the Atlantic and shaped by dramatic volcanic geology. The sheltered south coast around Las Galletas, Los Cristianos and Costa del Silencio offers penetrable wrecks such as El Condesito and El Pejín, sandy slopes crowded with stingrays and angel sharks, and lava-tube caverns like Cueva de los Cerebros. Green turtles graze the turtle-grass at Montaña Amarilla, while deep pinnacles off Punta de la Rasca draw amberjack, tuna and occasional pelagics. Mild water, easy shore access and a dense network of dive centres make Tenerife ideal for training, wreck diving and macro photography alike.

Getting There

Fly into Tenerife South (TFS) or Tenerife North (TFN); most diving is on the south coast, a short drive from resorts around Las Galletas, Los Cristianos and Costa del Silencio, reached by shore entry or short boat trips.
