El Pejín Wreck – Canary Islands – Tenerife

Site Overview

The El Pejín is a 50 m tugboat scuttled off Las Galletas in 2006, resting fully penetrable at 18-30 m and now one of Tenerife’s best wreck dives. Large resident groupers patrol the deck, barracuda school in the blue and nudibranchs colonise the hull, while morays and conger eels lurk in the openings. Its intact structure and reasonable depth make it a rewarding challenge for Advanced divers, with both exterior swim-arounds and guided penetration possible. Clear Atlantic water and easy boat access keep the El Pejín on every Tenerife wreck itinerary. The site rewards careful planning, good buoyancy and respect for Spain’s marine-protection rules, and remains a favourite among divers who value dramatic volcanic or Mediterranean scenery, historic wrecks and rich marine life across a long, varied season.
