Scuba Diving Regions in The Cayman Islands
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
Diving in the Cayman Islands is exceptional year-round, thanks to its sheltered location and stable tropical climate. The peak diving season is traditionally from December to May during the dry season, when horizontal visibility is at its absolute maximum and the sea conditions are generally at their calmest. The summer months (June to August) offer the warmest water temperatures, reaching 29°C, and often glassy-calm seas, which are ideal for reaching the remote sites of the North Wall. While June to November is the Atlantic hurricane season, the Cayman Islands have highly advanced weather monitoring and are well-prepared. For many, the shoulder months of May and November offer the perfect balance of great conditions and absolute serenity. Water temperatures range from a comfortable 26°C in February to 29°C in September, meaning a 3mm shorty or even just a rash guard is appropriate for most of the year.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For The Cayman Islands, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
