    Regional Diversity

Diving in Trinidad and Tobago is a year-round experience, but the horizontal visibility and conditions are significantly influenced by the Orinoco River's runoff. The peak season for diving is traditionally from December to June during the dry season, when the river's influence is at its minimum and horizontal visibility is at its absolute maximum, often exceeding 25 meters. This is also the best time for manta ray encounters (January to May). The summer and autumn months (July to November) bring warmer water temperatures, reaching up to 29°C, but also more nutrient-rich water which can reduce horizontal visibility while significantly increasing the density of marine life. Tobago is located south of the traditional hurricane belt, making it a safe year-round destination. Water temperatures range from a comfortable 26°C in February to 29°C in September, making a 3mm full suit recommended for most divers due to the potential for thermoclines.
