Site Overview

Secret Wall is Nha Trang's premier advanced dive site, a dramatic vertical wall descending beyond 30 metres on the exposed southern face of Hon Mun Island. The wall is draped in spectacular gorgonian sea fans, black coral colonies, and dense soft coral growth that thrives in the nutrient-rich currents flowing along the island's outer edge. Whitetip reef sharks patrol the wall face and deeper ledges, providing thrilling encounters for experienced divers who maintain calm and respectful behaviour. Hawksbill turtles glide along the wall feeding on sponges and soft corals, while schools of barracuda form silvery curtains above the reef edge. The wall's geological structure features dramatic ledges, overhangs, and crevices that harbour diverse invertebrate communities including colourful crinoids, basket stars, and rare nudibranch species. The deeper sections below 20 metres host the largest gorgonian fans and the most impressive black coral trees, creating an otherworldly underwater landscape that rewards careful depth management. Current flow along the wall brings constant nutrients that support the extraordinary biological growth and attract pelagic species from the open water. The shallower reef top at 10 to 15 metres provides a stunning contrast with bright hard corals and schooling reef fish, offering an excellent safety stop environment.
