Paraty and Ubatuba on the São Paulo north coast offer exceptional macro diving and diverse reef environments along one of Brazil's most scenic coastal stretches. Ilha das Cabras in Ubatuba is renowned as a macro paradise with seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, and nudibranchs on shallow walls, while Laje do Corvo provides a dramatic deep pinnacle with schooling barracuda, jacks, and occasional whitetip reef sharks. Ilha Anchieta features a marine park with coral formations, stingrays, and seasonal whale watching from July to October. Paraty adds Ilha dos Pescadores with sloping reefs, moray eels, and turtles in a charming colonial town setting. Getting There

Fly to São Paulo (GRU/CGH) and drive 4-5 hours north along the scenic Rio-Santos highway (BR-101) to Ubatuba. Paraty is a further 1-2 hours north. Alternatively, fly to Rio de Janeiro and drive south.
