Scuba Diving Regions in China
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
Due to its vast size, the best time to dive in China varies greatly by region. For the tropical south, including Hainan, the peak season is from March to November when the water is warmest and visibility is at its best. In the northern and central regions, diving is most pleasant during the summer and autumn months (May to October). Inland freshwater sites like Qiandao Lake can be dived year-round, but summer offers more comfortable water temperatures. Always check regional weather patterns, as the monsoon and typhoon seasons can affect sea conditions in coastal areas.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For China, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
