Scuba Diving Regions in United States
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
Diving in the US is year-round but varies dramatically by region. Florida's Keys and reefs are best from November through May with calm seas and excellent visibility. Hawaii offers consistent conditions year-round with the best visibility in summer. The Pacific Northwest excels in autumn and winter when plankton blooms subside and visibility peaks. The Great Lakes season runs from June through September when water temperatures are most comfortable. Caribbean territories follow a similar pattern to Florida with peak conditions from December through April.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For United States, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
