Getting There

Vung Tau is located approximately 125 kilometres southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, reachable by road in about two hours via the modern expressway. A high-speed hydrofoil ferry also operates from Ho Chi Minh City's Bach Dang wharf to Vung Tau, taking approximately 90 minutes along the Saigon River. Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam's busiest international gateway with connections worldwide. Once in Vung Tau, the compact town centre is easily navigated on foot or by motorbike. Dive sites are reached by speedboat from Vung Tau harbour, with travel times typically under 30 minutes for the main sites. Can Gio is accessed by road from Ho Chi Minh City, approximately one hour south, with dive departures from local jetties.
