Scuba Diving Regions in Australia
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
Australia offers world-class diving year-round, but conditions vary significantly by region. The best months for the Great Barrier Reef are from June to November during the dry season. On the west coast, Ningaloo Reef is best from March to July for whale sharks. The southern temperate regions are generally best dived during the Australian summer from December to February when water temperatures are at their highest and visibility is peak, providing the most comfortable conditions for long dives.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For Australia, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
