Scuba Diving Regions in Maldives
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
The Maldives offers excellent diving year-round with water temperatures of 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. The dry northeast monsoon from December to April brings the best visibility of 20 to 40 metres and calm seas across all atolls. The wet southwest monsoon from May to November brings plankton blooms that attract manta rays and whale sharks to cleaning stations, particularly at Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll. Liveaboard diving is available throughout the year with different atoll routes depending on the season.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For Maldives, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
