Scuba Diving Regions in Indonesia
From world-class walls to muck diving havens, discover the unique character of each regional cluster.
Regional Diversity
Indonesia is truly a year-round diving destination, but the dry season from April to November generally offers the calmest seas and best underwater visibility across the majority of the popular diving regions. However, the archipelago is so vast that when it is the 'wet season' in the west, it is often the peak diving season in the east. For example, Raja Ampat is best dived from October to April when the nutrient-rich plankton blooms attract massive manta rays and the visibility is at its optimal peak for photography and exploration.
Planning Tips
Many regions are seasonally dependent. For Indonesia, the best diving conditions are usually spread across different months depending on the archipelago or coast.
